Dan & Shannon Chance - Assistant Pastors
Dan became involved at NewCommunity in the fall of 1997. Soon afterwards, he began ministry as a setup/takedown team leader. After being an apprentice in a Life Group, he then became the Life Group leader of a group that especially served APU students. Upon graduation from LIFE Bible College in May 2001 with a degree in cross-cultural ministry, he became a part-time staff member at NewCommunity and began to oversee the ministries of the church.
His ministry at NewCommunity involves mobilizing people to minister according to their God-given gifts, passions, abilities, personality, and experiences. He also coordinates the ministries for the Sunday Celebrations. Dan is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree at the Haggard School of Theology at APU. He has a second part-time job working for the Gas Company.
Shannon grew up in Palmdale, California. She then attended LIFE Bible College and earned her teaching degree in December 2001. She joined NewCommunity in September 2001. Dan and Shannon began dating in June 2001, and were married in March 2002. Shannon has been teaching first grade at Foothill Christian School since September 2002.
